Volleyball Cruises Over Saint Leo in Straight Sets

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - It was a comfortable victory for Embry-Riddle Volleyball on Saturday as the Eagles had no trouble dispatching Saint Leo in a sweep. The Blue and Gold held the Lions to a -.042 hit percentage, which is the third time this season Embry-Riddle's opposition registered a hit percentage in the negative, and never trailed in the entire match. Isabella Rujano was responsible for nearly 30 percent of Embry-Riddle's points with 14.5 from 14 kills and a block assist.

First Set

  • Back-to-back aces from Haley Manjack assisted the visitors on an 8-0 streak to shoot ahead 22-5
  • Embry-Riddle eventually easily won 25-10
Second Set
  • ERAU held a slim 4-3 lead early on when the Lions gifted five-consecutive tallies to the Eagles partially due to four errors
  • The lead was trimmed to two before Embry-Riddle went on an 8-1 run to open up the set at 19-10
  • The Eagles took set two, 25-18
Third Set
  • A trio of attacking miscues by SLU gave Embry-Riddle a 4-0 advantage it would not relinquish for the remainder of the set
  • The Eagles closed the set and the match out on a 5-0 spurt with an ace from Ashley Lunt to seal the deal, another 25-10 win
