Sheplee Leads #9 Women’s Basketball to 74-70 Win Over Flagler

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – No. 9 Embry-Riddle women's basketball put on a great show for the over 700 fans in attendance tonight to watch their game against Flagler. Eliana Sheplee stole the show in the ICI Center, scoring a near program record, 35 points for the Eagles, as they won 74-70. Neither team could build up much of a lead in the second half, with 18 lead changes coming in the final 20 minutes. Along with Sheplee's fantastic night, Laurie Satchell became the first Eagle to record a double-double this season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

In her first week of games as an Eagle, Sheplee has made an immediate impact, averaging 20.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals. She delivered a historic performance tonight, becoming the first player in program history to go perfect from the free-throw line with at least 10 attempts. Her 10 made free throws tie her for the fifth most in a single game, and her 11 made field goals rank seventh all-time. With the second-highest point total in ERAU history, she now trails only Nikki Tucker's 38-point outing against West Liberty on Nov. 24, 2018.
