Men’s Basketball Wraps Up Road Swing With Win at Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team extended its winning streak to three games with a 73-55 Sunshine State Conference victory at Saint Leo on Saturday afternoon. Jared Berry came off the bench to lead the Eagle offense with 12 points. Yassin Hussein and Milan Skoric scored 11 points apiece, while Clarens Pierre (9 reb) and Michael McAlister (8 reb) led the Blue & Gold on the boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
• The Lions countered Dru Nickson's game-opening three with a three-point play of their own, but the Eagles held Saint Leo scoreless over the next two and a half minutes to open a 10-3 lead.
• With the Eagles leading 19-13, Milan Skoric hit his first three of the game which triggered a 13-3 run that grew the Eagle advantage to 32-16.
• Saint Leo had the better of the offense late in the half and outscored the Eagles 6-2 in the last 3:30 to cut the lead to 13 (34-21).
 
Second Half
• The teams traded baskets in the first four minutes of second half.
• A three-pointer by Saint Leo's Ryan Logan cut the Embry-Riddle lead to 10 (42-32) with 15:29 left to play.
• Baskets by Dawson Barr bookended a three-minute scoring drought for the Eagles.
• At the 10:04 mark, Hussein took charge as he outscored the Saints 8-0 himself over the next minute to increase the Eagle advantage to 17 (53-36).
• Embry-Riddle did not look back, growing the lead to as many as 22 points on the way to the win.
