Women’s Lacrosse Opens Season with Road Win

HUNSTVILLE, Ala. – The No. 20 Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team (1-0) showcased a dominating 18-4 victory on the road against Alabama Huntsville (0-1) on Saturday. The Eagles had some stand-out performances from both the returners and freshmen.  

Game Highlights: 

  • The Eagles outscored the Chargers 6-0 in the first quarter 

  • The Eagles had seven different goal scorers making up the 18 total goals.  

  • The defense led by goalie Ella-Rae Cox, remained strong, only allowing four goals, all coming in the second quarter. Cox had eight saves giving her a .667% for the match. 

  • We dominated the draw 21-4, with eight coming from Sallie Squires and six from Davis. 

  • The third and fourth quarters saw a nine-goal spurt for the Eagles as well as keeping the Chargers scoreless for the second half.  

Player Spotlights: 

  • Foreman: She was the leading goal scorer for the afternoon with five goals. She also racked up one assist, six points, one ground ball, and one caused turnover.  

  • Eliana Enners: The 2024 Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year led the Eagles in ground balls for the day with eight, and equaled Foreman with six points coming from four goals and two assists. 

  • Natalie Jansky: The transfer came out for the first time in her Eagles jersey and made an impact with two goals, one assist, and two groundballs. 


The Eagles return to action next Sunday against Montevallo at noon in Montevallo, Ala.
