Eagles Fly Past Falcons

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The women's lacrosse team (2-0) achieved its second win of the season with a 21-4 defeat over Montevallo (1-3) on Sunday. This marks the fifth win for the Eagles over the Falcons, as the Eagles remain undefeated in this match-up.

Game Highlights

  • The Eagles made a quick impact with the first goal coming from Natalie Jansky, unassisted, 45 seconds into the game.
  • The offense went on an 11-goal spurt in the first quarter that carried over to the second.
  • There were seven goal scores for the Eagles, all having two or more goals for the day.
  • The defense showed their strength with nine caused turnovers, 19 groundballs, while allowing only four goals on 10 shots faced.
  • ERAU dominated the draw, winning 17 of the 25, and Sallie Square led the field once again with nine.

Player Spotlights

  • Kenley Zeruto: Zeruto had four goals, and four assists and was the leader on the field with eight points. She is now the ERAU all-time leader in for career assists, with 80. 
  • Natalie Jansky: Jansky, had another strong game equaling Zeruto's four goals and picking up two assists, two groundballs, and six points.  
  • Ella-Rae Cox: Cox led her defense once again allowing only four goals for the second consecutive game. Playing all 60 minutes, she saved six shots and had two ground balls, picking up her second win.

The Eagles are on the road next week, facing Florida Tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
