MELBOURNE, Fla.- The No.15 Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team (3-0) came back in the second half against No. 21 Florida Tech (1-3) to win 21-13 in a non-conference game on Wednesday evening. The Eagles dominated the setting ERAU team and individual game records in the process. They bested the Panthers 31-7 for a new team mark, and 24 of those came from Sallie Squire who set a program single-game record for individual draw controls.
Game Highlights:
• The Eagles struck first with the goal taking just 25 seconds. It came from Eliana Enners off an assist from Callison Foreman.
• The Panthers quickly made their presence felt with the next three goals, but the Eagles didn't let that phase them scoring four goals. The Eagles finished behind by two in the first quarter (6-4.)
• The second quarter started with the Eagles again making the initial impact, tying the score 6-6 with two consecutive goals. The Eagles fell behind, however, finishing the half down 10-7.
• ERAU came out with new energy in the third quarter scoring seven of the 10 goals to take a 14-11 lead going into the fourth quarter.
• There was no slowing the Eagles down, as they took charge of the game and winning 21-13.
Player Spotlights:
• Squire: Set a new ERAU record for draw controls in a single game with 24.
• Foreman: Foreman led the Eagles in points with six, coming from three goals and three assists. Foreman has now joined the Embry-Riddle 100-point club.
• Ella Rae-Cox: She was the leader in goal with five saves and has now passed 100 career saves.
• Jordan Davis: Davis scored her first goal of the season and earned herself a hat trick. She also had a ground ball, a caused turnover, and a perfect shooting record going 3 for 3.
The Eagles hit the road again on Saturday to take on Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, N.C. at 2 p.m.
