Game 1 | Embry-Riddle - 17, Eckerd - 13

HOW IT HAPPENED

2nd Inning
  • The Tritons loaded the bases with two outs, but Ava Domenici slammed the door shut by striking out the next batter.
3rd Inning
  • Just like in yesterday's game, the Eagles did their damage with two outs as Raissa Bianco and Leah Oberkehr produced singles.
  • Mattea Martin, who had the game-tying single on Friday, came up clutch again with her first-career home run to put ERAU ahead 3-0.
  • Eckerd started the bottom of the inning with three straight singles to plate a run.
  • Another single later in the inning got the Tritons within one.
  • Raissa Bianco temporarily prevented further damage by cutting off a throw down to second to nail a runner at third.
  • However, a throw down to second later in the inning allowed the tying run to score.
4th Inning
  • The Eagles nearly hit through the lineup twice, sending 17 batters to the plate to produce 12 runs from nine hits and three walks.
  • Mallory Kinahan, Katriana Bain and Kerry O'Sullivan each produced two hits in the inning.
  • Five different Eagles collected RBIs, led by three from Kelsey Kressler and O'Sullivan, to give Embry-Riddle a 15-3 lead.
  • Eckerd responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning, partly due to a trio of defensive miscues (15-7, ERAU).
5th Inning
  • With just three outs remaining before the enforcement of the mercy rule, Eckerd prolonged the game by scoring five times on five singles and a walk (15-12, ERAU).
6th Inning
  • Bianco gave the Blue and Gold some breathing room with a two-RBI double to right center to put the Eagles ahead by five (17-12).
  • The Tritons got a run back in the next half inning with an RBI single.
  • Isabelle Bonn ended the inning by catching a runner attempting to steal second.

Game 2 | Eckerd - 8, Embry-Riddle - 4

HOW IT HAPPENED
3rd Inning
  • The Eagle defense did well to keep Eckerd hitless through the first two innings with starting pitcher Kinahan recording two strikeouts.
  • However, after watching the Eagles mash a three-run home run in game one, the Tritons responded by doing the same thing to go up 3-0.
5th Inning
  • Defensively, the Eagles locked in by retiring the next seven batters in a row with Kinahan picking up two more strikeouts.
  • The Embry-Riddle bats came alive in the fifth when a leadoff double from O'Sullivan and a fielding error on a batted ball by Oberkehr put two runners on base.
  • Martin and Wood followed with back-to-back RBI singles.
  • Bain shot the Eagles ahead with a two-RBI double to the right field fence for a 4-3 lead.
  • That lead was short-lived as Eckerd sent another pitch over the fence in left to tie the game.
  • Three more singles and a walk sent ERAU behind by three once again (7-4, EC).
6th Inning
  • Eckerd used a pair of hits to add another run and pad its lead (8-4, EC).
