Women’s Tennis Moves to 3-0 with 7-0 Defeat of Southeastern

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. The No.4 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team (3-0) swept NAIA No. 7 Southeastern, 7-0. Winning the doubles point set the Eagles up for success as they dominated in the singles.
 
Doubles Singles
  • Cuesta Bret took on Carlotta Narzano at No.1 and carried her momentum from doubles to singles, winning 6-1, 6-2.
  • At No. 2 singles, Wira Hadipoernomo was slow to start losing the first set 6-4 against Isabell Garces, but she quickly turned it around, winning the second set 6-1 and finishing 10-3 in the third.
  • At No. 3, Benedetta Sensi bounced back from a loss in doubles to win 6-2, 6-2 against  Neleah Neiberline.
  • Cabero del Hierro started strong winning the first set 6-3 at No. 4. Her opponent Irene Parigi increased her level to take the second set 7-5, but Cabero remained strong in the tiebreak and eventually came out on top, 10-8.
  • Franziska Kremerskothen filled the No.5 spot against Alessia Ciampi and dominated the match from the start, winning 6-1, 6-2.
  • The final Eagle to take the court was Alessia Tripaldelli, who faced Irene Lopez. Tripaldelli couldn't find her rhythm in the first set losing 6-2 but the second set was a different story as she lost just one game in the second (6-1). She came out on top winning the final match of the day 10-4 in the tiebreak.
 
The Eagles return to the Crotty Tennis Complex on Monday at 2 p.m. to take on No. 3 Lynn in their first Sunshine State Conference match of the year.
