VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team earned a decisive 9-2 win over Edward Waters in the Eagles' home opener on Tuesday. The Eagles scored nine runs in three innings to improve their record to 5-2. Edward Waters drops to 7-4 overall.
Noah Clymer was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored, while
Matthew Coker,
Max Kops and
Elias Campbell had two hits apiece. Kops and Marinello each had two RBI with Marinello collecting his first triple of the year.
Seven pitchers took the mound for the Eagles in the midweek game and limited a potent Edward Waters offense, which came in averaging 11.7 hits and 11.1 runs per game, to just two runs on four hits.
Tristan Harley struck out four in two hitless innings of work to get the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Second Inning
• A three-hit inning led to the Eagles' first runs of the game.

Collin Mastromauro reached on a fielder's choice and moved up on an
Elias Campbell single.

Matthew Coker belted a two-out single to left field to score Mastromauro.
• Campbell and Coker both crossed the plate on Kops' single to right center
Third Inning
• After Harley retired the Tigers in order, Clymer led off the third with a double down the left field line.
• Malachi Peña was hit by a pitch and
Alex Imposimato walked to load the bases.
• Mastromauro hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Clymer and Campbell singled up the middle to score Peña to give the Eagles a 5-0 lead.
Fourth Inning
• A fielding error gave the Tigers their second baserunner of the day, but Harley induced a ground out, a pop up and got the fourth batter of the inning to strike out looking to end the threat.
• Marinello's two-run triple to right highlighted a fourth inning that saw the Eagles send two more across to increase the lead to 9-0.
Sixth Inning
• A walk and a single put runners on for the Tigers.
• Edward Waters was able to push one run across before
Tyler Donay got the next Tiger batter to ground into a double play to end the inning.
Ninth Inning
• The Tigers only extra-base hit came in the ninth in the form of a Damon Smith double.
• Misael Ramos singled to score Smith for the final run of the game.
