Men’s Basketball Shuts Down Sailfish 82-50

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team used an air-tight defense to cruise past Palm Beach Atlantic 82-50 on Wednesday night. The 50 points allowed by the Eagles were a season low and the fewest the program has allowed in a regular season game against NCAA II competition since Feb. 8, 2023 - also against PBA. Embry-Riddle shot 50.8 percent from the floor, including a season-high 52.2 percent from deep, while holding the Sailfish to a shooting percentage of 34.5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
  • Defensively, Embry-Riddle played well by forcing the Sailfish to miss 10 of their first 12 shots.
  • Dru Nickson got hot from deep by nailing three triples in a two-minute span. Embry-Riddle led 23-7 just 10 minutes in.
  • Milan Skoric took over from there, scoring 10 of the Eagles next 12 points (35-22, ERAU).
  • The lead reached its peak in the half when Jack Dillard converted on a three-point shot to put Embry-Riddle ahead by 20 (45-25) with 1:12 remaining.
  • The Eagles shot 54.8 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from deep.
  • Nickson produced 13 points while Skoric added 10 in just five minutes of play.

Second Half
  • Michael McCalister drained a pair of threes to start the second half (51-29, ERAU).
  • A couple minutes later, Embry-Riddle scored 13 unanswered points, seven of which came from Nickson.
  • PBA responded with an eight-point streak, but the Eagles stepped on the gas thanks to multiple 6-0 spurts to push the lead up to 35 with a minute left (82-47, ERAU).
