DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team (1-0) returned to the Crotty Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon to take on Edward Waters (0-2). This is the first time the programs have faced each other, with the Eagles achieving their first clean sweep of the season 7-0.
Doubles
- The number two pairing of, Maissane Aik and Franziska Kremerskothen blitzed through Lara Viehrig and Andrea Rodriguez, not giving them time to warm up, 6-0.
- The Eagles won the doubles point as Edward Waters forfeited at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
- Aik at No. 1, carried on her from where she left off in the doubles, with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 victory over Aalisha Alexis.
- At No. 2, Kremerskothen had to fight hard against Giulia Peres, being the last off the court but ultimately she came out on top, 6-4,6-1.
- Alessia Tripadelli came in to play singles only and wasted no time winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 against Viehrig at No.3.
- Charly Egger, at No. 4, bounced back from a loss in doubles losing just one game against Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-0.
- Kaylee Kirivong (at No.5) played her first match of the season against Nadja Dzetelovic, and was first off the court and dominating 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles return to the Crotty Tennis Complex on February 13th at 3:30 p.m., where they will face off against NAIA No. 17 Southeastern.
