DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's lacrosse team notched its first win of the season with a 12-6 defeat of Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday. Saturday's home-opening win moved the Eagles' record to 1-1 as they earned their third straight victory over the Chargers.
Christian Hofer and
Trey Dring each had three-goal days for the Eagles, while
Tim Keefe added two goals and two assists.
Bobby Cyr contributed three turnovers and picked up four ground balls and
Reid Kerr collected 14 saves, which is the second-highest single-game total of his career, to notch his first win of the year.

How it Happened
First Quarter
• Dring scored the first goal of the game at the 11:45 mark.
• Hofer scored twice in the last 7:55 to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the end of the first.
Second Quarter
• The Chargers got the first goal of the second quarter, but the Dring answered with another score less than a minute later.
• Dring and Abbes helped increase the Eagle lead to 6-1 over the next six minutes.
• Back-to-back scores by Ryan Craig made it 6-3 with 4:50 left in the second.
• Hofer's third goal of the afternoon came at the 2:50 mark to give the Eagles a 7-3 advantage at the half.
Third Quarter
• The Chargers scored first in the third quarter to make the score 7-4.
• The Eagles forced six turnovers and Kerr came up with four saves to keep the visitors off the scoreboard for the remainder of the quarter.
• Keefe notched two of his goals in the third, and another score by Abbes made it 10-4 Embry-Riddle heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter

Lucas Anthony and
Jay Kyle each scored the first goals of their Embry-Riddle careers to extend the Eagle lead to 12-4 early in the fourth
• The Chargers got two late goals to close the gap for the 12-6 final score.
