HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
  • Embry-Riddle displayed its defensive prowess, holding Barry to 2-for-11 shooting to start the game.
  • Dawson Barr produced a couple of quick baskets to help the Blue and Gold to a 5-2 lead.
  • A stretch of three unanswered layups pushed the advantage up to five points (11-6, 13:45).
  • However, the Buccaneers went on a 12-4 streak with a trio of three-point shots to turn the Eagles' lead into a deficit (22-15, BU).
  • ERAU answered with back-to-back shots from beyond the arc by Jack Dillard.
  • Then a fastbreak dunk by Yassin Hussein put the Blue and Gold back on top with 5:31 left in the half (23-22).
  • Barry rattled off eight-straight points and took a 35-30 lead into the locker room.
  • Michael McCalister controlled the boards in the half, corralling seven rebounds.

Second Half
  • The two teams came out firing, with Barry hitting its first six shots while Embry-Riddle connected on five-consecutive attempts from 16:42 to 14:47.
  • That aided the Buccaneers to a 13-3 half-opening spurt for a 15-point lead (48-33).
  • Nickson helped lead his squad back with 11 points in a three-minute stretch to trim the deficit to eight (57-49, 13:35).
  • However, that was the last time the deficit would be in single digits.
  • Nickson tallied 24 points in the half, almost half of the team's output (49) in that timeframe.
