Men’s Lacrosse Earns 11-7 Road Victory Over RV North Greenville

Pete Abbes registered three points against North Greenville
TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Seven different goal scorers contributed to Embry-Riddle Men's Lacrosse's 11-7 road win over North Greenville (RV) on Saturday. Trey Dring led the way with four points on a hat trick and an assist, while Pete Abbes and Luke Barber added two goals each to help the Blue & Gold improve to 2-3 on the year.

First Quarter
• It took more than eight minutes for North Greenville to register the game's first goal.
• Two minutes later, Connor Hinson finished a pass from Tim Keefe to score his first goal of the season and tie the game at 1-1.
• With 1:33 left, Christian Hofer scored to give the Eagles their first lead of the game.
 
Second Quarter
• The second period saw the Blue & Gold dominate the Trailblazers 5-0.
• Less than two minutes in, Abbes increased the Eagle lead to 3-1.
• Just seconds after the Trailblazers were called for a slashing penalty, Abbes fed Dring for the man-up goal that widened the gap to 4-1.
• Goals by Abbes, Bobby Cyr and Luke Barber gave the Eagles a 7-1 cushion at the half.
 
Third Quarter
• An even third quarter saw the Eagles and the Trailblazers score three goals apiece.
• North Greenville got two goals back early, but the Eagles scored the next three to lead 10-4 going into the fourth.
 
Fourth Quarter
• Following a successful clear, Lucas Anthony got the ball to Dring whose second goal of the game made the score 11-4.
• The Trailblazers won the ensuing draw and scored the first of three unanswered goals to cut the lead to 11-7.
• The Eagles were unable to add to their tally, but ERAU goalkeeper Carter Groezinger came up with three saves and that effort along with five Trailblazer turnovers helped the Eagles come away with the 11-7 win.
 
UP NEXT
The Eagles open Sunshine State Conference play next Saturday when they host No. 21 Florida Southern at the ERAU Lacrosse Field. Game time is set for noon.
