Men's Lacrosse Earns USILA Academic Team Award, Keefe and Kerr Named Scholar All-Americans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Embry-Riddle men's lacrosse players Tim Keefe and Reid Kerr were each named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-Americans this week, recognizing the Eagles' success both on the field and in the classroom. In addition, Embry-Riddle earned the USILA Academic Team Award for the third consecutive season.

Keefe and Kerr were two of 18 student-athletes from the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) to receive Scholar All-American recognition and were among 79 honorees representing 28 schools nationwide. The Eagles have now produced at least one USILA Scholar All-American in four straight seasons and multiple honorees in back-to-back years.

To be named a Scholar All-American, student-athletes must be nominated by their coach, be at least a senior academically, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and receive recognition as an All-American, All-Conference selection, or be a participant in the North/South All-Star game.

Keefe capped off his senior season by leading the Eagles with 45 points on 30 goals and 15 assists while adding 12 ground balls and two game-winning goals. The Bridgewater, Massachusetts, native maintained a 3.59 cumulative GPA while majoring in Business Administration. He earned Second Team All-SSC honors for the second straight season, collected Third Team All-Region recognition, and was named a USILA Honorable Mention All-American. Earlier this season, Keefe surpassed 200 career points and turned in one of his top performances on April 4, totaling six points with four goals and two assists in an 11-9 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic.

Kerr, a senior from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, posted a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Aerospace Physiology. He started all 15 games in goal for the Eagles, logging nearly 900 minutes while recording a 10.75 goals-against average and a .514 save percentage. Kerr finished his career as Embry-Riddle's all-time leader with 389 saves and earned Third Team All-SSC honors this season. He recorded at least 14 saves in five games during the season, including a season-high 18 saves against Anderson on Feb. 14.

The Eagles also received the USILA Academic Team Award for the third consecutive season after posting a team GPA above 3.00. Embry-Riddle was one of 29 Division II programs recognized and one of five SSC teams to earn the distinction.
