Men's Tennis Blanks Mount Olive

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 17 Embry-Riddle men's tennis team turned in a dominant performance on Tuesday morning, blanking the University of Mount Olive 7-0 in their first-ever meeting.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles swept the doubles point with strong performances across the board. At No. 1 doubles, Joshua Nuyts and Michele Iftimie set the tone early, defeating Kristoffer Dalbak and Philip Carstensen, 6-4.
  • On court two, the pairing of Enrico Rosellini and Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo secured a crucial break to top Bram Poel and Niklas Gruenfeldt, 6-4.
  • The No. 3 team of Wilson Igbinovia and Mason Cisco battled through a tight match against Hampus Hagglund and Viggo Lindstrup, ultimately clinching the win in a tiebreak, 7-6 (8-6).
  • Cisco wasted no time at No. 6, powering past Jacob Womble in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
  • At No. 3, Rosellini controlled the pace throughout his match, earning a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Joao Sonaglia.
  • Iftimie was steady and efficient at No. 5, beating Snyder Pearson, 6-1, 6-1.
  • At No. 4, Diaz Rodrigo showcased his strength and consistency, defeating Lindstrup, 6-2, 6-1.
  • Playing at the top spot, Igbinovia cruised through the first set 6-1, and closed out Gruenfeldt 6-3 in the second set.
  • The final singles point came from Nuyts at No. 2, who overcame Hagglund with one break in each set to secure a 7-5, 6-4 win.
