HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team wrapped up their two-game road trip to South Carolina with an 18-3 win over South Carolina-Beaufort on Wednesday. Wednesday's win marked the fourth straight game that the Eagles have scored 14 or more runs while giving up just two runs per game during that stretch.
The Eagles' 18 runs came on 17 hits and nine walks led by three hits and four RBI each from
AJ Marinello and
Matthew Coker.
Robert Post (2-for-3) and
Max Kops (2-for-5) each accounted for a home run and
Aiden Schmidt was walked three times.
Bailey Russell got the win in just his second appearance of the year, striking out three in two innings of relief.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Inning
• The Eagles struck for two runs in the top of the first.

AJ Marinello singled to center and scored on a
Max Kops home run to right center field.
Second Inning
•
Robert Post singled to lead off the second, and moved up on a
Cooper Schmidt single to right.

Matthew Coker kept the inning going with an RBI-single to score Post.
• After
Aiden Schmidt earned a free pass, Marinello got his second hit with a two-run single to drive in
Cooper Schmidt and Coker to increase the Eagle lead to 5-0.
Third Inning
• Two walks and single loaded the bases with two outs in the third.
• Post scored on a wild pitch and
Aiden Schmidt walked to send his brother Cooper across to make it 7-0 in favor of the Eagles.
Fourth Inning
• The first two batters of the fourth reached base as Kops singled and
Timo Aracena walked to put runners on first and second bring Post to the plate.
• In his third trip to the plate, Post smacked a three-RBI home run to right center.
• The Sand Sharks answered in the bottom of the inning with three runs of their own.
• A walk, a double and a single plated the first two USCB runs of the game and C. Sikoski drove in J. Brown to make it 10-3.
Sixth Inning
•
Elias Campbell hit a two-out double to left field to score Aracena who hit a double to start off the inning.
• Coker's single to left field drove in Campbell and
Cooper Schmidt, and Coker scored on a Sand Shark throwing error to cap a five-run sixth inning.
Seventh Inning
• The Eagles added three more runs in the seventh, highlighted by Marinello's two-run double.
• The game ended following the seventh according to the run rule.
