WINTER PARK, Fla. – The No. 7 Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team won a thrilling double-overtime battle against No. 13 Rollins, securing a 15-14 win. Despite the Eagles being ranked higher in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll and IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll, the Tars were Sunshine State Conference preseason favorites at No. 4, with the Eagles ranked at No. 6.

ALL-TIME SERIES
- Embry-Riddle trails the all-time series, 2-4 to Rollins.
- This marks the second consecutive victory for the Eagles over the Tars.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- The Eagles dominated the opening quarter, outscoring the Tars 3-1.
- Rollins struck first with Tess Hovivian's goal at the 9-minute mark, but the Eagles quickly responded.
- A three-goal run began with Natalie Jansky scoring off an assist from Eliana Enners.
- Goalkeeper Ella-Rae Cox was outstanding in net, recording three saves to limit Rollins to just one goal in the quarter.
Second Quarter
- Both teams turned up the offensive pressure, combining for eight goals in the quarter.
- Enners got on the scoreboard early, finding the net for her first goal just two minutes in.
- Rollins responded with two goals, but the Eagles answered with a four-goal spurt, taking an 8-4 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter
- Rollins came out of the break with a clear plan, outscoring the Eagles 5-1.
- The Tars controlled much of the quarter, scoring four unanswered goals.
- Caitlin Gavin's lone goal for the Eagles kept them in the game, sending the contest into the final quarter deadlocked at 9-9.
Fourth Quarter
- Both teams scored five goals in the final period, forcing overtime with the score tied at 14-14.
- The Tars briefly gained their first lead since the opening goal, with two quick scores.
- However, the Eagles responded with another surge, registering four goals from four different players to regain the lead.
- With just a minute remaining, the Eagles allowed two goals in the final minute, extending the game into overtime.
OVERTIME
- In the first overtime period, the Eagles won the draw control but were unable to take a shot on goal.
- Aubrey Fixen, who subbed in for Cox late in the fourth quarter, came up with a crucial save to keep the Eagles alive and force a second overtime, with the score still tied at 14-14.
- The Eagles wont the draw again at the start of the second overtime period, and Enners seized the opportunity, scoring the game-winning goal to seal a 15-14 victory for Embry-Riddle.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
- Enners led the Eagles with four goals and one assist. She also contributed four ground balls, one caused turnover, and two draw controls.
- Zeruto added five points, tallying four assists and one goal. With this performance, Zeruto becomes the Embry-Riddle career all-time leader in points.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will return home on Saturday at 4 p.m. to face No. 1-ranked Tampa. The game will also serve as a tribute to Morgan's Message, a charity dedicated to mental health awareness in student-athletes.
