FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In an unforgettable showdown, the No. 5 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team achieved a historic victory over No. 1 Nova Southeastern, winning a hard-fought 4-3 match. This win marks the first time in program history that the Eagles have defeated the Sharks, a team they had never beaten in the last 11 encounters.

  • The match came down to No. 4 singles, where Benedetta Sensi of ERAU faced off against Isabella Ciancaglini of the Sharks. Sensi won the first set 6-4 but fell 6-4 in the second. The third set was a tense affair, ending in a tiebreak at 6-6. After a rain delay lasting over an hour, Sensi came out on top, winning five consecutive points to secure the match and the victory for ERAU.
