DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team suffered two tough losses to Lynn on the final day of the three-game Sunshine State Conference series on Saturday. The Eagles dropped the first game 7-2 before losing a heartbreaker in the second, 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
•
Tyler Donay got the start in the first game and held the Fighting Knights scoreless through the first three innings.
• Lynn scored their first run on two hits in the fourth and after a scoreless fifth, the Fighting Knights added two runs each in the sixth and seventh stanzas.
• After getting his first hit on Friday night,
Cole Turner's second was a double to left centerfield that scored
Timo Aracena.
• An
Elias Campbell single and a
Collin Mastromauro double put runners in scoring position with one out in the eighth.
• The third hit of the inning was a single by
AJ Marinello that pushed Campbell across, but Lynn's reliever recorded back-to-back strikeouts to end the Eagle rally.
• Lynn sealed the win with two more runs in the ninth.
Game 2
• The second game of the doubleheader was scoreless through the first three innings.
• In the home half of the fourth,
Aiden Schmidt reached on an error and advanced to second on
Robert Post's single to right center.
• Both runners came around to score on
Drew Clymer's double down the left field line to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the seventh, Schmidt got on base again and this time, he singled home
Collin Mastromauro to extend the Eagle lead to 3-0.
• The Eagle pitching staff was able to keep the Fighting Knights off the scoreboard through eight innings, but Lynn broke through with a three-run ninth to send the game into extras.
• Lynn got a walk and a single to put two runners on in the 10th.
• The Eagles tried to turn on a double on the next ball put into play, but the throw to first was not in time allowing the go-ahead run to cross the plate.
• The Eagles reached on an error in the bottom of the 10th but were unable to convert that into a run, giving Lynn the win.

The Eagles travel to Jacksonville on Tuesday for a rematch against Edward Waters. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
