Women's Tennis Dominates Eckerd on Senior Day

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The No. 5 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team made the most of Senior Day with a dominant 6-1 win over Eckerd College at home on Saturday. The Eagles dropped just one match, sending their seniors off with style. Honored in today's game were Alessia Tripaldelli, Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo, Maissane Aik, and Carla Cabero del Hierro

ALL-TIME SERIES 

  • The Eagles remained undefeated in their all-time series against the Tritons. 

  • ERAU has dropped just two points in all previous encounters against Eckers. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Aik and Benedetta Sensi set the tone early at No. 2 doubles, overpowering Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo with a convincing 6-2 win. 

  • Making her return to the court, Kaylee Kiriviong paired with senior Wira Hadipoernomo to claim a solid 6-3 victory over Maialen Idakez and Fiona Orza at No. 3. 

  • At No.1, Cabero del Hierro and Laura Cuesta Bret battled through a tight match to earn a 7-5 win over Olivia Lindestaf and Catherine Cole. 

  • Sensi wasted no time at No. 3, blanking Orza 6-0, 6-0 not missing a beat from start to finish.. 

  • Wira Hadipoernomo followed suit at No. 2, improving her season record to 16-2 with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win over Misdorp. 

  • Franziska Kremerskothen stepped in at No. 4 and cruised through the first set before closing the match 6-0, 7-5 against Idakez. 

  • Cabero del Hierro capped off her Senior Day with a flawless performance at No. 5, not dropping a single game in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Soligo. 

  • The final match saw senior Alessia Tripaldelli seal the win with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Laura Ullrich at No. 6.
