DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The No. 7 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team traveled to Miami Shores, Florida, to take on top-ranked Barry University in a pivotal Sunshine State Conference match up. With a share of the regular season SSC title on the line, the Eagles were unable to find their footing, falling 6-1 to the Buccaneers.

- The No. 1 doubles team of Laura Cuesta Bret and Carla Cabero del Hierro showcased their dominance with a 6-2 win over Viktorii Dema and Ailen Crespo.
- Barry secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three
- The Eagles fought hard but dropped singles matches on courts one, two, three, five, and six
- On court four, Benedetta Sensi led 7-6 (5), 2-1 when No. 30 Angela Leweurs retired, earning the Eagles' lone point

The Eagles now set their sights on competing in the Sunshine State Conference tournament that starts on Friday in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Eagles earned the No. 2 giving them a bye in the first round. They will take on the winner the quarterfinal match between Rollins and Nova Southeastern in the semifinals on April 26, at 1:00 pm.
