DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle women's tennis embarked on a new season this weekend, hosting the 2025 ERAU Open at the Crotty Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach.

The Eagles opened the 2025-26 season, turning in a solid showing in a three-day slate of matches that featured in-state competition in Sunshine State Conference foe Eckerd, NCAA Division II member Flagler, and NAIA opposition Southeastern.

Unfortunately, action was stalled several times throughout the weekend due to pop-up storms and rain. Several of the matches were left abandoned or unfinished due to the weather.

ERAU's pairing of Kaylee Kirivong and Charly Egger went undefeated in doubles play, posting a 3-0 record with wins over duos from Southeastern and one pair from Flagler.

As for singles play, seven of the 10 individuals competing for the blue and gold earned wins of Friday.

Kirivong highlighted singles play with a 2-0 record. She opened with decisive wins of 6-1 and 6-2 over Southeastern's Faith Erickson on Friday and followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 showing on Sunday over Isabelle Buhain from Southeastern. Franziska Kremerskothen and Lila Small also went 2-0 for the weekend in singles play, facing opposition from Flagler and Southeastern.

Embry-Riddle will take the next couple of weeks to prepare for the ITA South Regional tournament which takes place on Oct. 2-5 in Pensacola, Fla.
