DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 7 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team opened the spring season in emphatic fashion Friday, rolling past Palm Beach Atlantic, 6-1, at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
The Eagles secured the doubles point and then won five singles matches to cruise past the Sailfish.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle jumped out front early by taking two of three doubles matches.
- At No. 1 doubles, Daniela Fernandez Junquera and Laura Cuesta Bret earned a 6-1 victory over Alina Hoermann and Valeria Lopez.
- The doubles point was clinched at No. 2, where Amelie Gindl and Charly Egger edged Virginia Borja and Anarella Brito, 7-5.
- The Eagles carried that momentum into singles play, winning five matches.
- No. 3 singles: Daniela Fernandez Junquera opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Mia Garber.
- No. 2 singles: Laura Cuesta Bret clinched the team victory with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Virginia Borja.
- No. 4 singles: Ashley Moinard followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Elisa Buhagiar.
- No. 5 singles: Charly Egger rallied past Valeria Lopez, 7-5, 6-4.
- No. 1 singles: No. 17 Amelie Gindl capped the match with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Alina Hoermann.
