ORLANDO, FL — Embry-Riddle women's tennis head coach Chad Berryhill has been named Racquet Sports Professionals Association's (RSPA) Steve Wilkinson College Coach of the Year.

The RSPA Steve Wilkinson College Coach of the Year Award honors outstanding collegiate tennis coaches for exceptional results and contributions to the sport. The Steve Wilkinson College Coach of the Year Award is one of the RSPA's annual recognition programs and is designed to recognize members with stellar results as team coaches at the collegiate level.

Last season, ERAU elevated to No. 2 in the country for NCAA Division II and closed out the season ranked No. 10, setting new program records. The Eagles tied the program record with 23 total dual match victories while going 8-1 in conference play. ERAU earned a second seed into the SSC Tennis Championships and made an appearance in the finals for the first time in program history and were honored to host the NCAA South Region II Championship for the first time ever. In addition, Berryhill has coached three-straight SSC Freshman of the Year recipients while leading the Eagles to numerous other accolades.

Back in June, Berryhill was named the RSPA Florida Division Coach of the Year for the third time in his career, an honor he won in 2019 and 2024 when the organization was still called the United States Professional Tennis Association. With the same organization, he was named the USPTA Steve Wilkinson Collegiate Coach of the Year in 2019.

The RSPA is the leading organization for certifying and supporting professional tennis and racquet sports instructors. It is a professional organization that provides certification, education, and career development for coaches and instructors in tennis and other racquet sports, including pickleball, padel, squash, and platform tennis.  Originally founded in 1927 as the Professional Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), it later became the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) before rebranding to RSPA in September 2024 to reflect its broader focus across all racquet sports.
