No. 7 Embry-Riddle Continues All-Time Dominance Over Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The No. 7 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in Sunshine State Conference play Monday with a 6-1 victory over Eckerd.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Embry-Riddle secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Carlota Balseiro and Benedetta Sensi defeated Valentina Bronzetti and Maialen Idiakez, while Mariana Cabrera and Ashley Moinard topped Fiona Orza and Laura Ullrich.
  • At No. 3 singles, Daniela Fernandez Junquera was first off the court with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Idiakez.
  • Sensi extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Bronzetti at No. 2 singles.
  • After Eckerd picked up a point, Balseiro earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ullrich at No. 4 singles to secure the team victory.
  • The Eagles added two more singles wins to close the match. At No. 5, Moinard rallied past Catherine Cole, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 6, Franziska Kremerskothen defeated Soleia Rutter, 6-3, 6-0.
  • Kremerskothen remains undefeated in 2026 in both singles and doubles, improving to 5-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles. She has posted a 66-7 overall game record this season.

The Eagles return to action Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. against No. 10 Columbus State before facing No. 21 Auburn Montgomery on Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at the John W.
