DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball moved to .500 on the season with a strong showing in the finale of the 2026 Eagle Classic on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles scored a season-high seven runs on nine hits to soar past the Bobcats with a five-run advantage, led by
Sierra Lipton's three hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Inning:
- Leah Oberkehr opened the game for ERAU with a leadoff single and captured her 80th stolen base of her career shortly after.
- An RBI double from Shelby Morse pushed in Oberkehr for the early one-run lead.
3rd Inning:
- After a scoreless second frame, the Eagles busted the game wide open with six runs in the bottom of the third, utilizing five hits and two errors.
- Sierra Lipton, Oberkehr and Emma Wood all knocked in singles in the first three at-bats of the inning.
- Wood notched an RBI single for the two-run lead.
- Mattea Martin drove in two to help move ERAU's lead to 5-0 alongside an error which was followed by Addison Orr 's sacrifice fly to score the sixth run of the game.
- ERAU finished the frame with an RBI base hit from Lipton to lead by seven.
4th Inning:
- Georgia College got one run back with two hits, including an RBI single.
- GCSU was pressuring the Eagles' defense, leaving two runners stranded.
7th Inning:
- GCSU produced three-straight two-out singles to eventually push home a run for a 7-2 deficit.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Lipton finished the game 3-for-3 from the plate with one RBI.
- Martin went 2-for-4 with two RBI followed by a 2-for-3 outing from Oberkehr.
- As a team, ERAU batted .333 (9-of-27).
- Shelby Morse pitched for 6.0 innings, allowing just three hits and one run.
- Morse finished with a walk and four strikeouts to move to a 2-1 record on the season.
