HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
  • After a turnover on Eckerd's first possession, Embry-Riddle opened the scoring through Mary Lengemann. Her second-chance bucket was part of six points ERAU scored off of offensive rebounds in the first quarter.
  • Eliana Sheplee and Emma Egan each scored the next four points of the game for their teams, seeing the Eagles lead 6-4 through the first three minutes.
  • Back-to-back threes by Eckerd gave them their first lead of the day, ahead 10-8 but the Blue and Gold ended the quarter on an 8-3 run.
  • Sheplee paced ERAU with 10 first quarter points, seeing her team lead 16-13 after the opening period. A dozen of those points for the Eagles came from inside the paint.
Second Quarter
  • A shot from behind the arc by the Tritons on their first possession of the quarter tied the game at 16. It was one of five threes they made in the quarter.
  • The 15-0 run would continue through the first five minutes of the period, with Egan adding six points in a three-minute stretch.
  • Jareah Branch ended the drought with a pair of free throws at the 4:48 mark, before getting a steal on the following possession and converting the layup.
  • Bianca Negreiros made it a 7-0 run in only 45 seconds after connecting on a three. Embry-Riddle now only trailed 28-23 with less than four minutes to go before half.
  • The two teams combined to go 5-for-5 from the field in the final two minutes with a shot from deep and buzzer-beating layup putting Eckerd up 38-27 at the break.
Third Quarter
  • ERAU only gave up one made field goal in the first couple of minutes in the quarter, cutting the Tritons lead to 40-30 with 8:00 still to play.
  • However, neither team missed a shot for the next 2:30, going 7-for-7 with each basket coming from inside the arc along with a pair of free throws. The margin stayed at 10 points with the Eagles behind 48-38 and now having 5:22 left in the quarter.
  • Each team shot over .600 from the field during the quarter as late field goals from Sheplee and Alyssa Brasko kept the Blue and Gold within striking distance.

Fourth Quarter
  • Embry-Riddle quickly worked away at the Eckerd lead, opening the fourth on a 7-0 run in the first 90 seconds to make the score, 62-53.
