DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After being ranked No. 9 in the first release of the ITA computerized rankings, the Embry-Riddle women's tennis team took the court with something to prove. The Eagles delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Wingate in a match where no opponent won more than four games in any set.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle opened the afternoon by securing the doubles point with a sweep across courts one through three. Laura Cuesta Bret and Daniela Fernandez Junquera defeated Anastasiia Oktiabreva and Daniela Kotara, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles.
- The No. 2 doubles matchup proved slightly more competitive, but Benedetta Sensi and Carlota Balseiro earned a 6-4 win over Fernanda Castillo and Honomi Watanabe to secure the doubles point.
- At No. 3 doubles, Ashley Moinard and Mariana Cabrera completed the sweep with a convincing 6-3 victory against Claudia Vallejos and Mariia Bobrovska.
- The momentum carried straight into singles play, beginning with Franziska Kremerskothen at No. 6. Kremerskothen continued her dominant run with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bobrovska, improving to 8-1 on the season.
- Fernandez Junquera followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Watanabe at No. 4 singles to keep the Eagles rolling.
- Sensi delivered the clinching point in emphatic fashion, defeating Castillo 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to secure the team victory.
- Amelie Gindl, Cuesta Bret and Moinard rounded out the match with straight-set wins over Oktiabreva, Vallejos and Kotara, respectively. The trio combined to outscore their opponents 36-14.
- Moinard remains undefeated in singles play at the No. 5 position in 2026.
