ALL-TIME SERIES
  • The Eagles suffered their fourth straight loss to the Buccaneers.
  • Embry-Riddle falls to 1-25 all-time in the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Barry secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. The Buccaneers opened with a 6-2 victory on court No. 1 before closing out courts No. 2 and No. 3 by identical 6-4 scores. Late rallies from Carlota Balseiro and Benedetta Sensi as well as Ashley Moinard and Mariana Cabrera kept both matches competitive down the stretch.
  • The Buccaneers extended the lead in singles as Louane Lutringer defeated Moinard on court No. 6 and Jenifer Anger topped Franziska Kremerskothen on court No. 5, both in straight sets to move Barry ahead 3-0.
  • Dana Heimen clinched the match for Barry on court No. 1 with a straight-set win over Amelie Gindle to secure the 4-0 victory.
  • Despite the clinched score, several Eagles battled into deciding sets. Benedetta Sensi won the opening set 6-3 before falling 7-6 in the second and 10-5 in the match tiebreaker to Viktoria Dema.
  • Laura Cuesta Bret also forced a third set before falling in a tight 10-7 tiebreaker to Ailen Crespo, while Daniela Fernandez Junquera dropped a narrow 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) decision to Alina Machlitsch.
