ALL-TIME SERIES

  • The Eagles improved to 26-27 all-time against the Panthers.
  • Embry-Riddle has won the last two meetings and will look to take the all-time series lead in Saturday's doubleheader.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Blue & Gold faced early trouble as Florida Tech loaded the bases in the top of the first, but Tristan Harley came through with a clutch strikeout to strand all three runners and keep the game scoreless.
  • Aiden Schmidt got the Eagles started in the bottom half with a single to left, and Aidan Corn followed with an RBI double to right-center. Aiken Santana added another RBI double to left, giving Embry-Riddle a 2-0 lead after one.
  • The second inning moved quickly, as both sides went three up, three down to keep the two-run margin intact.
  • Embry-Riddle broke things open in the third, scoring three runs through a mix of timely hitting and defensive pressure. Cole Bullen led off with a double and Drew Clymer worked a walk before Santana delivered his second hit of the day to drive in a run. Jack Beyl followed with a single to load the bases, and Derek Lopez was hit by a pitch to force in another run. A throwing error allowed a third run to score, extending the lead to 5-0.
  • Florida Tech found life in the sixth, stringing together four hits to plate two runs and cut the deficit to 5-2.
  • Embry-Riddle answered in the seventh without recording a hit, capitalizing on an error and a wild pitch to add an insurance run and extend the lead to 6-2.
  • The bullpen shut things down late, allowing just one baserunner over the final three innings to secure the win.

INSIDE THE STATS

  • Santana led the Eagles offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.
