Embry-Riddle Cheer Competes at NCA College Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle cheer team competed at the NCA College Nationals this weekend, competing in prelims on Friday afternoon and closing out with finals action on Saturday at the Ocean Center.

The Eagles finished 21st out of 25 teams in the Intermediate Small Coed Division II section of the event.

ERAU opened on Friday with a raw score of 75.4 with no deductions, posting a performance score of 83.7778 for an event score of 82.1042 to rank 16th in the prelims. Saginaw Valley State led the opening day of the section with an event score of 93.3704 which included a 0.75 deduction.

Embry-Riddle returned to the stage on Saturday afternoon, placing 21st in the finals. The Eagles posted a raw score of 75.8667 and marked a 2.75 deduction for a performance score of 81.5463. ERAU's event score finished as 82.1042. The final score combined the point total from prelims and finals. Prelims are worth 25 percent while the final routine takes up 75 percent of the team's final event score.

Saginaw Valley State posted an 84.8 raw score to earn the title and were followed up by Lubbock Christian (84.2667) in second and Northeastern State (83.6333) in third.
