DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first three innings but went quiet over the next five, allowing Valdosta State to take control with five unanswered runs. The Eagles rallied in the ninth but left two runners on base, falling short in a 7-5 defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Valdosta State struck first in the opening frame, as the first two batters recorded singles. The next two hitters grounded out, but an RBI from Ryan Strachan put the Trailblazers on the board.
- A big second inning for Embry-Riddle flipped the lead. A walk, single and another walk loaded the bases before Francisco Feliciano delivered a two-RBI single up the middle to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
- Another walk reloaded the bases, and Aidan Corn drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home Aiden Schmidt and extend the lead to 3-1.
- The Blue & Gold added on in the third, as Max McClusky tripled and Jack Beyl followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 4-1.
- Valdosta State responded in the fourth with two runs on two hits, trimming the deficit to one.
- Carrying that momentum into the fifth, the Trailblazers used two walks to set the table before a two-RBI single gave them their first lead since the opening inning.
- Valdosta State added another run in the seventh, loading the bases with two singles and a hit-by-pitch before a sacrifice fly extended the lead to 6-4.
- The visitors added another run in the ninth without recording a hit, using two walks and a wild pitch to set up a sacrifice fly that extended the lead to 7-4.
- Cole Bullen and Corn combined to score early in the ninth, cutting the lead, but the Eagles were unable to grasp onto the momentum, falling 7-5.
