DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle softball closes out the final home series of the season with a split of Saturday's doubleheader against Nova Southeastern.
The Eagles won the first game with a 1-0 walk-off from
Vanessa Gilbert but dropped the second contest 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In what would become a narrow win for the Eagles, game one was tense as scoring proved to be scarce.
- ERAU's best chance to score early came in the second inning as the Eagles left the bases loaded despite recording a hit, reaching on an error, and earning a two-out walk.
- NSU's lone hit came in the top of the third with a bunt single turned to two bases with a throwing error advancing the batter.
- The rest of the game resulted in three-up, three-down efforts until the bottom of the seventh.
- Mattea Martin reached on an error and was pushed to second thanks to a sac bunt from Shelby Morse.
- Martin moved to third on a ground out and was driven in off an RBI single from Gilbert to win the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle struggled to get runs plated in the second game, leaving seven runners stranded throughout the game.
- The Sharks' 11-6 edge in hits began right out the gate with two hits to help plate the opening run.
- ERAU followed with hits from Leah Oberkehr and Emma Wood but could not capitalize in the first frame.
- NSU added two more runs in the second with a single and a triple to lead by three runs.
- Nova Southeastern moved to a 6-0 lead in the fifth inning with three hits, an ERAU error, and a wild pitch helping plate three.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Riley Sullivan and Wood both recorded two hits apiece.
- ERAU finished the game hitting .222 (6-for-27) and were 1-for-11 when runners were on base.
- Ava Domenici started in the circle and tossed for 3.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on six hits, three walks, and four strikeouts.
- Morse pitched 3.1 innings as well, allowing one earned run on four hits and a pair of strikeouts before Olivia Dougherty closed with the final out.
