SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle baseball team opened the weekend with a comeback victory Friday night but was unable to carry that momentum into Saturday's doubleheader. The Eagles dropped game one 10-1 before falling 3-2 in a tightly contested second game against Saint Leo. After being limited offensively in the opener, Embry-Riddle responded with a stronger showing in game two, out-hitting the Lions but leaving key opportunities on base. The results gave Saint Leo the series despite the Eagles' late push throughout the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening three innings moved quickly, as both teams combined for just one hit and one walk with no runs scored.
- Embry-Riddle recorded its first hit in the fourth inning, but Saint Leo worked out of the jam, stranding two Eagles.
- The bottom of the fourth proved decisive. A fielding error, a walk and a single set the table before two additional hits brought in four runs, giving the Lions control of the game.
- Saint Leo added two more runs in the fifth, while Embry-Riddle broke through offensively. Aiken Santana doubled and later scored on a fly ball to right field to put the Eagles on the board.
- The Lions responded with four more runs in the bottom half of the inning to cap the scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first two innings were scoreless, but Embry-Riddle worked out of early trouble, stranding three runners after Saint Leo loaded the bases with no outs in the first.
- The Eagles generated offense in the second as Aiken Santana singled and Derek Lopez reached on a bunt. With the bases loaded, however, Embry-Riddle came up empty after a strikeout and a double play.
- Embry-Riddle broke through in the third. A walk and a pair of productive outs set the table before an RBI single brought Aiden Schmidt home.
- Saint Leo answered in the bottom half, using two hits to plate two runs and take a 2-1 lead.
- The next three innings remained quiet, with both teams combining for just two hits.
- The Eagles evened the score in the seventh. Max McClusky reached on an error and advanced on flyouts before Noah Clymer delivered an RBI single up the middle.
- In the bottom of the ninth, Saint Leo drew two walks before a single to right field brought in the game-winning run.
