No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse Clinches Postseason Berth With 11-10 Win at No. 16 Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 4 Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse picked up a hard-fought 11-10 victory over Florida Tech on Wednesday afternoon, marking its second consecutive one-goal win. The Eagles seized control early with a 5-0 run in the first half to build a 7-2 lead, then relied on their defense to fend off a late push from the Panthers. Embry-Riddle dominated possession throughout, winning 16 of 23 draw controls, including all but two in the second half. With the win, the Blue and Gold locked in a spot in the SSC Tournament, which begins with the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 18.

GAME NOTES
  • Embry-Riddle was moved up to No. 4 in the most recent IWLCA Division II national poll (April 6). This is tied for the highest ranking in program history.
  • The Eagles now lead the all-time series 9-1 over the Panthers, including nine consecutive wins dating back to 2019. 
  • This is the second time this season that ERAU has held Florida Tech to exactly 10 goals. The Blue and Gold secured a 19-10 win at ERAU Lacrosse Field on February 21.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
  • After Ava Rogala controlled the opening draw of the game for the Eagles, she would score the opening goal. Rogala was assisted by Callison Foreman at 12:55 for her 27th goal of the season.
  • The game would not have another goal for the next six minutes as each goalie made a few impressive saves, combining for seven stops in the first quarter. Ella-Rae Cox denied the Panthers on a free position shot with 11:35 on the clock to keep them scoreless.
  • Eliana Enners extended the ERAU lead to 2-0 at 6:21, the 43rd goal that she has scored this campaign. She now ranks among the top five in the SSC in total goals this season.
  • Following a save from Florida Tech and a green card against Embry-Riddle, Phoebe Hurt got the scoring started for the Panthers with a woman-up goal at 5:27.
  • A pair of late goals from Sofiie Bender gave FT a 3-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter
  • There were six total cards dished out by the referees in the opening period with two Panthers receiving a green card in the final 11 seconds. The Blue and Gold capitalized on the two-man advantage to tie the game up at 3-3 when Foreman scored off of an assist from Aubrey Schmidt.
  • Natalie Jansky and Enners continued the domination of Florida Tech to begin the second quarter when they both scored just a minute apart from each other at 11:18 and 10:18, putting the Eagles up 5-3.
  • RJ Ensor helped grow the lead to three goals when she scored at 8:45. Ensor has now scored 11 goals in her past five games.
  • In her first start of the season, Schmidt recorded a goal and an assist in the first half when she scored to make it 7-3 with less than seven minutes to go. ERAU started the quarter on a 5-0 run, limiting the Panthers to just one shot on goal during the stretch.
  • After a timeout from Florida Tech, Isa Brown scored the last goal of the half to send the teams into the break with a 7-4 scoreline. 
Third Quarter
  • The second half got started with a goal from Florida Tech to cut their deficit down to two. However, Caitlin Gavin controlled the ensuing draw, drew a foul, and then converted the free position attempt. The Eagles lead had been restored at 8-5 just 26 seconds later at 12:06.
  • Ensor grabbed her second goal of the game while Jansky provided her second assist when they combined to make it 9-5 with 8:32 remaining in the quarter.
  • Embry-Riddle had their largest lead of the day at after Leah Coletti scored at 5:55 from an assist by Foreman. Both Foreman and Jansky rank among the top four in the SSC in assists per game this season.
  • The Panthers scored the last goal in each of the quarters, with the last goal of the third quarter coming with 3:40 on the clock when they made it 10-6 through Hurt.
Fourth Quarter
  • A five-goal lead was suddenly trimmed down to 10-7 when Florida Tech scored again in the opening minute of the fourth quarter.
  • ERAU had a great response to the shift in momentum when Rogala scored a free position goal on the Blue and Gold's next possession. The Eagles ranked fifth in the country on free position percentage (.580) coming in to Wednesday's contest.
  • Another six minutes without a goal kept Embry-Riddle ahead by four goals, but there was a late flurry from the Panthers. At 6:37, they scored a free position goal while already a woman-up to make the score, 11-8.
  • Haley Rosa and Gillian Craig each scored within a minute of each other, cutting ERAU's lead down to 11-10 with 3:37 remaining in the contest.
  • The Eagles were able to use up most of the remaining clock with possession following a draw control from Schmidt and then a caused turnover by Lucy Pickle, keeping Embry-Riddle's lead intact and finishing off the win to improve to 11-2.

INSIDE THE STATS
  • With two goals and a ground ball today, Eliana Enners became the third player in program history with 200 career points and simultaneously broke the record for most ground balls in a career (134).
  • Six of the 12 starting players have remained constant throughout the 2026 season. Reese Borrell, Sophia Bordone, Ella-Rae Cox, Callison Foreman, Natalie Jansky, and Eliana Enners have been named in the starting lineup for each game.
  • Natalie Jansky and Ava Rogala are the only two players to have scored in all 13 games this season. Jansky has also provided at least one assist in 12 of the games.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will return home for Senior Day when they host Saint Leo on Saturday, April 11, at 4:00 p.m at ERAU Lacrosse Field. Saint Leo and ERAU are currently tied for second place in the SSC with a 4-1 record. The Eagles will be honoring Abigail Ozgar Leah Coletti, Emily Silliman, Jordan Davis, Rylie Bryant, and Madeline Nees in a pregame ceremony.
