Eagles to Host NCAA Division II South Regional as Program Makes Third Straight Tournament

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle women's tennis found out Monday night that they will be hosting the NCAA Division II South Region tournament for the first time. This will also serve as the third consecutive season the Blue & Gold will be represented in the NCAA Division II South Regional. Embry-Riddle finished the season 21-2 as the Sunshine State Conference runner-up, losing only to Barry University, who will host the other side of the NCAA Division II South Regional bracket.

As the No. 2 seed in the South Region, ERAU will host the No. 7 seed Tuskegee on Friday, May 8. The Eagles played the Golden Tigers earlier this spring for the first time in history at the Crotty Tennis Complex in a 4-0 win for the Blue & Gold on March 15. The winner of this match will advance to play the winner of the No. 3 and No. 6 matchup of West Florida and Nova Southeastern on Saturday, May 9.

There are 48 total teams in the tournament, split into 16 regional sites to play out the preliminary rounds. The winner of each preliminary bracket will travel to Surprise, Arizona, and the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex to compete in the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Quarterfinals beginning Tuesday, May 19.
