DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Embry-Riddle rowing standout Shelby Ernst has joined the Embry-Riddle Athletics staff as an Athletics Compliance Coordinator, Director of Athletics
Dr. Rachel Burleson has announced.
A member of Embry-Riddle's 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship rowing team, Ernst will join the Eagles' compliance staff, working alongside Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator Mea Felps-Darley and Compliance/Academic Enhancement Coordinator
Michael Harrison.
In her new role, Ernst will help support the success of Embry-Riddle's student-athletes by overseeing eligibility and NCAA compliance initiatives. She will assist with academic certification, rules education, compliance reporting, and other key areas that help ensure the department's continued commitment to excellence and integrity.
A two-time Embry-Riddle graduate, Ernst earned a bachelor's degree in aerospace and occupational safety as well as a master's degree in aviation with a concentration in safety and sustainability. During her rowing career, she helped lead the Eagles to a national championship while earning SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition four times, CSC Academic All-America honors twice, NCAA Scholar Athlete, and recognition as a CRCA Athlete of the Year nominee.
