MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — Embry-Riddle (5-0-2, 1-0-1) resumed Sunshine State Conference play against Barry (1-3-2, 0-1-1) and overcame a two-goal deficit and force a 2-2 draw Saturday. The Eagles extend their unbeaten streak to seven games and continue a strong early season campaign. The game start was delayed by over two hours due to persistent lightning in the surrounding area and lead to a late night clash.
Both teams remained scoreless in the first half, but the Eagles were left down to 10 men following what was ruled a denial of a goal scoring opportunity for the Bucs. Barry opened the second half strong with a penalty kick goal following a handball inside of the box. Then adding on a second goal on a well executed run passed back across the middle. While tested, the Eagles pushed back quickly and
Chris Kin found the back of the goal off of his right foot. ERAU then added a goal to tie the game following a cross hammered in by
Mattia Motzo in the 64th minute.
With the score tied 2-2, the Eagles held Barry without a goal through six attacking actions from 73:46 to 82:40. Both teams were scoreless at halftime before each scored twice in the second half, and Embry-Riddle finished with 13 shots, including 10 on goal.
First Half
- ERAU generated five shots in the opening 10 minutes, with
Rimon Beyene,
Johannes Larsen and
Riley Aldana each putting attempts on goal that were saved by Henry Obi.
- Beyene was shown a red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity at 7:52, and Barry built pressure later in the half with three corner kicks and multiple shots between 19:28 and 30:50, including two saves by
Marcos da Silva.

Tewen Spamer put another Blue and Gold shot on goal at 37:30, but Obi saved it, and the half finished scoreless after Barry earned a late corner at 44:52.
Second Half
- Barry converted a penalty kick at 47:05, then added a goal by Sebastian Tascon from Luke Correia at 61:59 to move ahead 2-0.
- ERAU answered quickly, with
Chris Kin scoring at 64:15 before
Mattia Motzo finished a
Joseph Ben-Ezra assist at 67:23 to tie the match 2-2.
- da Silva made saves during Barry chances at 73:46 and 82:40, and the Eagles put three late shots on goal from
Jonas Banouas and
Louis Dolcini, all saved by Henry Obi.
- The second half ended 2-2, leaving the match even at full time.
