Lopez's Logic
"Nathan has really gotten back to his style of play and has learned when he wants to attack and when not to attack the golf course. An excellent student?person?player and shares his academic gifts as well serving as a mentor tutoring student-atheltes in the BEST Program. Nathan served as an anchor player last year and we expect him to lead us even more."

2004-05: Improved nearly three strokes in scoring average at 78.39 and posted two top 10 performances on the year...recorded career-best share of 8th at the Eagle Invitational leading the Eagles with a career-low 36-hole total of 147 (72-75=147)...matched his career-best finish two weeks later at the Bash at the Beach posting a 154 total (75-79=154)...31st at the Start2Finish Collegiate Invitational on recording a 54-hole total of 235 (84-77-74=235)...claimed a share of 30th at the Titan Invitational with a career-low 54-hole total of 228 (74-76-78=228)...tied for 23rd with 157 at the Webber Invitational (80-77=157)...42nd at the Sleep Inn & Suites Classic posting a 237 total (83-76-78=237)...shared 39th at the NAIA Region XIV/FSC Championships at 246 (78-84-84=246)...earned FSC All-Academic honors...was given Eagle men's golf Academic Eagle and Soaring Eagle awards...has earned Dean's List all four semesters at Embry-Riddle.

2003-04: Played in two spring tournaments sharing 37th in his first event at Bethune-Cookman Invite...shared 1st round lead with an even-par 72 at ERAU Spring Classic, finished 41st...first Charles B. Ryan Scholarship winner which is awarded to a men's golfer with passion for ERAU and who is an excellent student-athlete and teammate with character.

High School: Did not compete in high school, but played on Southeastern Jr. Golf Tour posting four top 10 finishes in eight events...23rd at the SJGT Championship...appeared in Georgia PGA Jr. Championship...T-5th at Little Ocmulgee Jr. Classic...T-6th at the Christmas Classic, T-7th at Orchard Hills Jr. Classic, T-8th at the White Oak Jr. Classic...T-9th at the Houston Lake Jr. Classic.

Personal: Majoring in Aerospace Engineering...born in Tulsa, Okla. on March 2, 1985...son of Michael and Jane Hellwege...twin brother Stephen is also a member of the Eagle men's golf program...homeschooled 5th grade to graduation...during the summer helps a food bank unload food weekly.
