After playing three seasons for Caoch Ridder and the Eagles, Eric Lorenzi is back on the Eagle bench, this time as an assistant coach.

Lorenzi was a redshirt for the Eagles in 2007 after which he opted to transfer to Santa Fe Community College. After a two-year stint at SFCC, Lorenzi returned to ERAU in 2008 and immediately impacted the Eagle lineup. As a junior, he started in 31 contests, playing a team-high 31.8 minutes per game on the way to second team All-Conference recognition. He average 14.6 points, eight rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on the year and posted nine double-doubles before being sidelined by an injury just before the start of postseason play.

The following year, Lorenzi, was selected as one of three captains of the Eagles’ 2009-10 campaign and he led the Eagles to The Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles and the Elite Eight at the NAIA National Tournament. Lorenzi was the team’s leading scorer in his final season wearing the Blue and Gold, averaging 18.2 points per game. He started in each of the Eagles’ 36 games and averaged 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. The Gainesville, Fla. native closed out his three-year career with 1,616 career points and vaulted to No. 4 on the Eagles’ all-time rebounding list with 769. Lorenzi was honored for his accomplishments in 2009-10 as a first team All-Conference selection and a second team All-American.

After graduation, Lorenzi enjoyed a brief stint with the Jacksonville Bluewaves in the World Basketball Association before going to work for Brown and Brown as an internal auditor.
