Glenn Dalcourt is back for another semester with Eagle basketball after joining the program as a student-athlete in 2007.
Described by ERAU Head Coach Steve Ridder as “the epitome of our program is all about”, Dalcourt came to Embry-Riddle from Franklin Simpson High School where he totaled 1,081 points, 499 rebounds, 206 assists and 232 steals in his four year career. In his first season with the Eagles Dalcourt saw action in all 27 contests, averaging 2.8 points and 1.3 boards per contest. His sophomore campaign saw those numbers improve to 8.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game as he earned 25 starts in 33 appearances.
As a junior, Dalcourt played in all of the Eagles’ 36 games with six starts and helped the Blue and Gold to The Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles and the quarterfinal round of the 2010 NAIA National Tournament. He closed out his junior campaign averaging 7.2 points per game and led the Eagles from beyond the arc with a 39.8 percent (51-128) clip.
Dalcourt earned starts in each of his 34 four appearances as a senior. A unanimous pick for team captain, Dalcourt led by example, averaging 9.9 points and three rebounds. His passion to see the program succeed was key in the Eagles’ winning the 2011 Sun Conference tournament title and making a return trip to the national tournament.
“Glenn’s presence means everything to us,” ERAU Head Coach Steve Ridder said. “I hope that when all these young guys hear me talk about Glenn, they think ‘wouldn’t it be great if I could grow up like Glenn Dalcourt?’ because he was one of our best and most effective leaders. The way he played the game – he was unselfish on both ends of the floor – he’s is a winner. He is obsessed with doing things the right way and being on top and when we talk about hard work in our program they need to see Glenn who has gone through our program with great success.”
Daclourt who had the opportunity to intern with Insitu during the summer of 2010, will complete his degree in computer Engineering in Dec. 2011, after which time he will begin working for the City of Franklin in Kentucky as a Network Engineer.
