Kayla Barnett joined the Embry-Riddle Sports Medicine staff in the summer of 2015 and works directly with ERAU's men's basketball and women's soccer programs.
Barnett came to Embry-Riddle from Nashville, Tenn. where she was an athletic trainer for Star Physical Therapy and Davidson Academy for three years, and held the same position with Results Physiotherapy and Harpeth Hall two years prior to that. In her five years with those programs, she was responsible for game coverage of football, basketball, soccer, softball, cross country, track and field, lacrosse and rugby, as well as injury prevention, care and rehabilitation for all athletes ranging from fifth to 12th grade.

As a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi, Banett worked with women's volleyball, rifle and cheerleading/dance. She also interned with the University of Tennessee and served as an athletic trainer at Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania.

A 2007 graduate of Florida Southern, Barnett was the head athletic training student the with Moccasins' men's soccer program, in addition to working with basketball and volleyball. She was also a spring intern with the Lakeland Thunderbolts arena football team.

Barnett graduated with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Florida Southern in 2008 and earned her graduate degree in Exercise Science from Mississippi in 2010.
Barnett and her husband, Tony, reside in Daytona Beach.
