Biography
2024-25 (Sophomore): Bested Rollins and Florida in eights at the Rollins Invitational (March 9)… won in JV8s at the FIRA Championships (March 29) to aid the Eagles in capturing a second-straight state title…also placed second in JV fours.
2023-24 (R-Freshman): Picked up four medals (two gold, a silver and a bronze) in 13 races participated...gold medal with the eights at FIRA Championships (6:07.34) (March 30)...raced to a first place finish in the novice fours at FIRA...silver medal at FIRA in the varsity eights (6:10.39)...earned a bronze medals at the Knecht Cup in Pennsauken, N.J. (6:08.53) (April 14).
Prep: Graduated from The McCallie School…coached by Brandon Horak, Aubrey Wetteland and Sean McCourt…won Florida Scholastic Rowing Association state titles in the 4v and 2v…placed fourth scholastically and 11th overall at the 2019 Head of the Hooch.
Personal: Born in Winter Park, Florida…son of Ricardo and Shannon Calzada…majoring in Software Engineering…desires to be a project manager at a leading tech company…also hopes to create his own business that focuses on developing environmentally friendly technologies…volunteered at a community kitchen in high school…also donated dozens of bouquets of flowers to senior citizens in retirement homes.
