Biography
2010-11: INDOOR – Competed in three meets as a freshman…won the discus throw (37.60m) and took third in the shot put (12.80m) in his first collegiate meet, the ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 22)…placed sixth in the shot put with a mark 12.97m at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational (Jan. 29). OUTDOOR – Participated in six meets…finished fourth with a 12.89m mark in the shot put at the USF Open (Mar. 11)…won the shot put with a distance of 13.87m at the ERAU Spikes Classic (Mar. 18)…placed second in the discus throw (40.27m) and the shot put (13.67m) at the USF Collegiate Invitational (Apr. 1)…set a new school record in the discus throw with a 41.06m mark at the FSU Seminole Invitational (Apr. 8)…won gold in the shot put (13.75m) and bronze in the discus throw (38.58m) at The Sun Conference Championships (Apr. 17).
PREP: Graduated from Natrona County High School in 2006...state champion in the shot put and the discus...named team captain as a senior.
PERSONAL: Son of Mary and Peter Schmotzer...born in Laramie, Wyo. on July 17, 1988...pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Science.
