Biography
2011-12: Qualified for the 2012 United States Olympic Trials in the 20,000m Race Walk after posting a time of 1:46:49.00 at a special Race Walk event at the ERAU Track Complex in late April, allowing her to compete at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. in early July…finished 11th of 15 competitors at the Trials, clocking a time of 1:54:17.35…also represented the United States at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Islands (NACAC) Under-23 Championships, bringing home a bronze medal for the US in the 10,000m Race Walk, finishing in 55:56.68. CROSS COUNTRY: Second team All-Conference selection…ran in all eight races as a junior…helped propel the Eagles to the 2011 Sun Conference title with a ninth-place time of 20:05.99 at The Sun Conference Championships (Nov. 5)…put forth her second-best time of the year of 19:57 at the NAIA National Championships (Nov. 19) where she was the fourth Eagle finisher…recorded her personal-best mark of 19:45.02 at the Southeast Classic (Oct. 22), making her the 16th fastest runner in Eagle history. INDOOR: NAIA National Champion in the 3000m Race Walk, finishing in 14:41.95, earning All-America honors in the process…set three career-best marks during the winter season, including the 800m (2:23.78), mile (5:40.55) and 3000m (10:57.65) at the ERAU Last Chance (Feb. 18), ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge (Jan. 28) and the Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 11), respectively. OUTDOOR: Completed a sweep of NAIA National Championships in the Race Walk when she finished the 5000m Race Walk in 26:43.05 at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 26), becoming just the second Eagle track and field athlete to win multiple national titles in the same year…raced to a time of 19:37 at the North Florida Invitational (Mar. 31), setting a personal record…turned in a career-best 5:16.24 in the 1500m at The Sun Conference Championships (Apr. 23) was her best time as an Eagle.
2010-11: CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in six meets for the Blue and Gold...the seventh Eagle finisher at the Southeast Classic (Oct. 23) with a time of 23:00.39...posted season-best time of 22:27 at The Sun Conference Championships (Nov. 6). INDOOR: Participated in four meets…placed sixth in the 600m (1:42.80) at the ERAU Last Chance (Feb. 18)…ran an “A” standard in the 3000m Race Walk (16:54.60) at the ERAU Last Chance meet (Feb. 18)…placed ninth in the 3000m Race Walk at the NAIA Indoor National Championships (Mar. 3) with a school-record time of 16:46.44. OUTDOOR: Saw action in nine meets during outdoor season…took sixth place in the 800m (2:26.42) at the ERAU Spikes Classic (Mar. 18)…won bronze in the 5000m (20:18.00) and gold in the 5000m Race Walk (26:40.92, “A” standard) at The Sun Conference Championships (Apr. 17)…scored four points with a fifth-place finish in the 5000m Race Walk at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships (May 26) in a school-record time of 25:52.63.
2009-10: INDOOR: Ran in five meets…placed fifth in the 400m dash at the ERAU Last Chance (Feb. 19) in a time of 1:04.75…also finished seventh in the 400m (1:06.34) at the ERAU Dual Meet (Feb. 27).
PREP: Played soccer for Coach Joe Bocklet at Central Bucks High School South…led team to the Colleen Reilly Tournament championship in 2007…Titans won the Suburban One crown and went undefeated in 2008…CBHS was also a finalist at the Lititz Summer Showcase (2007), the Hempfield Fall Classic (2006) and the Frederick Cup (2006)…also played for the Montgomery United Premier club team, who finished second in the PAGS Premiership Fall League in 2008…also earned three letters in track…helped the 4x400m squad qualify for the indoor state and national championships twice…part of the 4x100m and 4x400m teams that qualified for the district championships and the Penn Relays…also qualified for districts in the Open 400m.
PERSONAL: Born in Wilmington, Del. on Aug. 24, 1990…daughter of Joseph and Debbie Bonk…an Aeronautical Science major...played in eight matches for the ERAU women’s soccer team in 2009...scored first collegiate goal against Webber International (Sept. 27, 2009)...also scored a goal at Ave Maria (Oct. 24, 2009).
