Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics

    A two-year letterwinner at Embry-Riddle, Menchaca joined the coaching staff as a volunteer coach after his senior season in 2008.
    He had 23 starts in each season he played for the Eagles, with 46 starts in 77 appearances during his tenure. During his junior season he hit .350, going 21-for-60 with four doubles. As a senior, Menchaca hit .238 with 19 hits and one double.
    Prior to Embry-Riddle, Menchaca played for the College of the Sequoias in California, where he hit a cumulative .290 with 13 doubles and 33 RBI. During his sophomore season he was named to the Honorable Mention All-CVC team.
    Menchaca graduated from Reedley High School in Visalia, Calif. where he was a three-year letterwinner in baseball. As a prep player, he hit .314 and posted a 3.47 ERA and eight wins on the mound. He was a two-time winner of RHS’s Gold Glove award.
    Menchaca is completing his degree in Business Administration at ERAU and currently resides in Daytona Beach.
