Mariana Pereira of the softball team has been named the Tijuana Flats Female Athlete of the Week for Feb. 18-24. For Pereira, this marks her first weekly award of the season and of her career. The senior hit .800 (8-for-10) with three walks, three doubles, a triple, seven RBIs, and five runs scored to lead ERAU to a three-game sweep of Eckerd. The first baseman was the first player in program history to record five hits in a game, going 5-for-5 with a double, triple, three runs scored, and four RBIs on Friday night. On Saturday, Pereira went a combined 3-for-5 with three walks, two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBIs in the doubleheader sweep.
