DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --?The Embry-Riddle women's volleyball team recorded its second-straight victory against Flagler (Fla.) in three days with a 3-0 decision (30-23, 30-22, 30-26) Tuesday?evening in Florida Sun Conference?action?at the ICI Center.

The Eagles (14-5, 4-1 in the FSC), defeated Flagler 3-2 in a non-conference match?last Saturday at the Palm Beach Atlantic Bash at the Beach tournament.? The victory snapped Embry-Riddle's four-match losing skid against? Flagler dating back to 2002, but first-year ERAU head coach Joslynn Gallop wasn't completely satisfied with the win, knowing her squad could?play better against the Saints.

"I have to say that we have executed our game plan perfectly," Gallop said. "That's what we have been working on - to play the perfect match.? It comes at a time where we needed a little more confidence and playing the way we did and beating them in three we are ready to approach the most important?stretch of our conference schedule."

The first game was very close with neither team gaining more than a two-point cushion in the early going.? ERAU led 12-11, but Flagler (10-9, 5-1 FSC) went on a 5-0 run to?take a 16-12 advantage?led by a kill and service ace from Krista McAra?(Merritt Island, Fla.).??

The Saints maintained the lead?at 22-19, but Embry-Riddle went on a 11-1 run to?win the first game 30-23?benefitting from three Flagler miscues and strong play from?junior middle?blocker #Mia Jaramillo# (Manizales, Colombia) who recorded three of the Eagles final four kills.??#Janelle Marinos# (Three Rivers,?Calif.) added two kills in the run, while #Marissa Gonzales# (Littleton, Colo.) and #Ashell Curtiss# (Libby, Mont.) each recorded service aces.? Marinos led the Eagle offensive attack with 18 kills, while Gonzales directed the offense recording 34 assists.?

The second game was all Embry-Riddle never relinquishing the lead jumping out to a 4-1 lead and expanded the margin to 14-8 midway through the game.? Marinos and #Daniela Brazolino# (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) led the Eagles in the second game?with six and five kills, respectively.? Flagler cut the?ERAU lead to 21-18, but the Eagles went on a 9-4 run to?close out?the game 30-22.?

The Eagles' defensive effort was tremendous on the evening limiting Flagler to just?.021 and .020 hitting percentages in the first?two games and the Saints ended the evening with a .047 attack.? Junior libero #Nancy Salb# (Boise, Idaho) led the defensive presence in the back recording 31?digs - the fourth-best ERAU all-time single-match effort.? Brazolino added 18 digs, Gonzales finished with 14 and Marinos had nine.

Flagler looked as though it would?force a fourth game?taking the lead midway through the third at 12-11 and pushed it out to a 23-18 advantage.? However, Embry-Riddle outscored?the Saints 12-4 down the stretch to?post the?comeback win to close out?the match 30-26.? The Eagles trailed 24-23, but three straight?Flagler attack errors gave?ERAU a 26-24 lead.? ?Holli Strompolis (Neenah, Wis.) cut the lead to 27-26, but two more Saints' attack errors gave the Eagles the chance to close out the match and Brazolino?put the ball down for her 10th kill of the match.

Embry-Riddle returns to action this weekend Sept. 30-Oct.?1 at the Savannah College of Art and Design Spikefest?Classic in Savannah, Ga.? The Eagles?open the?Classic with Milligan (Tenn.) at 1:15 p.m.? Flagler hosts Palm Beach Atlantic University on Friday at 7 p.m. in St. Augustine.?
