DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team will begin postseason play on Oct. 31 when the Eagles compete in the 2012 Sun Conference regular season championship game. The Eagles, who won the league's North Division, will travel to West Palm Beach to take on Northwood for the regular season title at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Embry-Riddle, who finished with 24 points in the league, is ranked eighth in the latest NAIA poll, which was released on Tuesday evening, and is 13-4 on the year. The Eagles won the North Division with an 8-1 conference record with their only league loss coming to Northwood.
Northwood earned the right to host the regular season championship game after posting an 8-0-1 record in league play for 25 points. The Seahawks are ranked 22nd nationally, and bring a 12-4-1 record into Wednesday's match.
The winner of the regular season championship game will receive the league's first automatic bid to the 2012 NAIA National Championship. The loser will be the No. 1 seed and receive a first-round bye in The Sun Conference Tournament, which gets underway on Thursday.
